Durban's Super Giants will host Pretoria Capitals in their SA20 2025 opener at the Kingsmead Cricket Ground in Durban on Friday, January 10.

Under the leadership of Keshav Maharaj, DSG will aim to build on their impressive run after they finished runners-up in SA20 2024.

Having registered seven wins and three losses, DSG were one of the most dominant teams in the league phase last season as they finished second in the standings with 32 points from 10 matches to storm into the playoffs.

While Keshav Maharaj’s men went down to Sunrisers Eastern Cape in Qualifier 1, they later bounced back to thrash Joburg Super Kings by 69 runs in Qualifier 2 to book their place in the final.

DSG’s memorable campaign came to a heartbreaking end as they succumbed to an 89-run defeat to Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the summit clash.

With an ambition to clinch their first-ever SA20 title, the Lance Klusener-coached outfit has further bolstered their squad with the addition of former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, West Indies batter Brandon King, young fast bowler Shamar Joseph and England all-rounder Chris Woakes.

Prenelan Subrayen and CJ King are some of the exciting local talents who can hog the limelight in the marquee T20 tournament.
