Durban’s Super Giants will lock horns with Paarl Royals in their penultimate SA20 2025 league match at the Boland Park in Paarl on Monday, January 27.

Under the leadership of Keshav Maharaj, the Super Giants will be aiming to bag maximum points against the Royals in Paarl to keep their SA20 2025 playoffs hopes alive.

Meanwhile, the last season’s finalists will be desperate to return to winning ways after losing to MI Cape Town by seven wickets in their previous game on Thursday.

Put in to bat, DSG rode on brilliant fifties from Heinrich Klaasen (66 off 43 balls) and Kane Williamson (56 not out off 44 balls) to post 149/6 in their 20 overs. Later, the DSG bowlers fought hard till the very end, but it was not enough as MI Cape Town chased down the target in 14.5 overs.

Since winning their opening game against Pretoria Capitals at the Kingsmead in Durban, the Super Giants have struggled with their form this season.

With eight points from eight games, DSG are currently placed sixth in the SA20 2025 standings.

The Lance Klusener-coached outfit will need to win their remaining two games against the Royals and Joburg Super Kings with bonus points and also hope other results go their way to qualify for the playoffs.

On the other hand, the David Miller-led Paarl Royals have already qualified for SA20 2025 playoffs. Having registered six wins and one loss, the Royals are placed on top of the SA20 2025 standings with 24 points from seven games.
